Vacation

This week, my family and I went to Galveston Island. Our daughter, Meredith wanted Capri, her friend to come with her. Oh they, had a wonderful time swimming, jumping the waves and eating sea food.

I on the other hand, I took long walks along the sea shore with my sweetie. Just a few days of getting away to regroup, renew my spirit, body and mind was just what the doctor ordered.

Now, I am ready to go back to work and write on The Cross Roads.

Four hours of writing and dedication

Yesterday, with the exception of a few minor interruptions, I was able to write for four hours. I just let my fingers, do the talking. Sometimes, I don’t know where my story line will go. I just keep writing and ending up with something else I had not even thought about.

Meredith, my daughter sat on the floor as I wrote. Every once in a while, she would ask, “Read it to me.” After reading short bits, she would add her thoughts. Let me tell you, she is good. I have encouraged her to write a children’s book. I believe this is good for her to watch me, give ideas, and listen.

This morning, I decided to dedicate The Cross Roads to Meredith.

Taking time to write

Writing is a job, a career, and something that I take very seriously. Of course, I love it. When I sit down to write, I have to be inspired to do so. I have to be in a, writing frame of mind; every writer does. Sit down when you’re not inspired and all you get is frustration, confusion and a blank sheet of paper.

People have asked how I do it. My answer is this: I write when I can. If this means waking up at 5 A.M. so I can get some alone time, then that is what I do. I also write at night when the family is asleep. Am I exhausted? Sometimes, but it is well worth it.

This morning, I woke up at five, downed a cup of Joe, and barricaded myself in my office. I check emails, answer questions, which I get from time to time, do a little marketing and then I start on what I love to do---write!

As of now, I am writing my fourth novel, The Cross Roads. Meant for young adults, this epic tale will grab your heartstrings. Choosing between good and evil, Ali Banks discovers the men she is torn between is not whom she thinks they are. The Discernment will follow, ending with The Decision.

My goal is to write a chapter a day. If I can do that, The Cross Roads will be ready by January. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the follow

I wanted to thank my friends for the follow. I also want to thank Laura who designed this beautiful blog. She has such incredible talent. What a neat gift she has!

I have been very busy working on my next novel, The Cross Roads and Surfside Erosion. The Monastery Murders and its sequel Identity, are a murder, court drama, romance novels. I have thought long and hard about keeping the trilogy going with Surfside Erosion, only to bring in new characters.

Writing is what I love to do. The story behind this wonderful career started on a rainy day in the Red Roof Inn. With no where to go, I knew I was socked in for the day. I opened up my lap top and within six weeks, Shoe Marks was born. Adicted to the craft, I couldn't put down my pen. Writing ideas down, story lines etc., posted the white walls of this tiny abode. In a nut shell, I was hooked.
